An adventure of story book proportions

A bottle (or two) of champagne has been popped in celebration of this big piece of news. For the last couple of months Chris and I have been planning a trip of epic proportions. Expedia, in conjunction with their Find Your Storybook campaign, dealt us with the task of completing a storybook journey of our own.

When we think of a story book the first things to pop into our heads are epic quests and heroic battles: Lord of the Rings, Don Quixote, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Alice in Wonderland are just a few titles that come to mind. We enjoy sagas that involve people coming together in order to achieve a goal or defeat evil. In the spirit of questing with comrades, we decided that we wanted to band together with two of our favorite people.

Kent and Canaan of No Vacation Required have been mentors and friends to us for the last couple of years. They are the caterpillar to our Alice, the Sam to our Frodo, the Tom to our Huck, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this new adventure with them. The four of us will be traveling to a country that neither Chris nor I have ever been to and our agenda is out of this world. We’re talking ten days filled with castles, hot air balloon rides, island sailing adventures, and medieval towns. And while we’re not looking to engage in any epic battles, we suspect that the four of us will be riding off into quite a few sunsets.

We’ll be chronicling our adventures on the Expedia Viewfinder Blog but if you want to get live updates on our trip be sure to be following us on twitter and instagram with the hashtags #4amigos and #storybook. We embark on April 30th and hope you’ll come along for the ride!
