AlcoHAUL. Episode 3 [feat. Icelandic Brennivin]

Drinking in Iceland Brennivin schnapps

It’s that time again. We have rolled out another one of our intoxicating AlcoHAUL videos where we choose a liquor that we’ve picked up from our travels around the world and show you how to make something delicious out of it. Today’s episode is brought to you by Brennivin. This clear and aromatic schnapps is said to be Iceland’s signature distilled beverage and we drank a ton of it while exploring Iceland.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Iceland, even if the Northern Lights failed to show themselves. We embraced Iceland with open arms and tried everything from reindeer meat to fermented shark. One of the many things you should know before traveling to Iceland is that the weather is unpredictable. My favorite memory followed a harrowing trek through a blizzard to our Icelandic Farm Holidays hotel. Our travel companion, Lola had enough foresight to purchase a bottle of Reyka (Icelandic vodka) and Brennivin at one of our pit stops earlier that day. We spent the rest of the evening sitting outside in a geothermal pool as snow whisked around us, taking turns jumping out and making snow angels. It was epic.

Take a peek at our Brennivin episode below and let us know if it’s something you could see yourself drinking.

Now it’s your turn. What are your favorite liquors from around the world? Let us know in the comment section below.

Looks like it’s a refreshing drink needless to say. I’m pretty much a person of repetition. My favor drink are anything with rum from the Caribbean. Probably a Bahama mama good day drink.

I (Tawny) am an avid rum fan as well. I’ve been branching out more recently but rum seems to always be my go-to.

I’m a bit of a light weight so I’m not overly adventurous with the drinks! It looks cool though 🙂
