Beaches to explore while on San Cristobal, Galapagos.
Puerto Chino
Puerto Chino is by far one of the best beaches on the island of San Cristobal and is best reached by taxi. It will cost about $30 USD round trip from the main town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. If you’re ever looking for things do to on San Cristobal, make sure you check out this pristine beach. Sea lions and sea turtles abound and it’s one of the few beaches in the Galapagos that you can visit without a naturalist guide. If you’ve ever wanted to camp in the Galapagos, this is your beach. For a small fee, you can pitch a tent and take in the soothing waves and scenery as the sun sets over your camp.

Playa Baquerizo
Another wonderful and highly secluded beach in the Galapagos islands is Playa Baquerizo. Most people think that the only way to get there is by taxi-boat. However, make friends with the locals and they’ll be sure to show you the twisting path that leads to this hidden gem. The path to the beach is a little overgrown, but again, no naturalist guide is needed. It’s a wonderful way to explore the Galapagos islands on your own time and at your own pace.
