Travel Photo du Jour! [Machu Picchu, Peru]
It was a wet and cloudy day when I first laid eyes on the aerial view of grand Machu Picchu. I had spent the previous hour scouring the grounds and running my fingers along the centuries old stones. I let my imagination run wild and tried to picture life back in the 15th century when Machu Picchu was thriving and full of life.
I felt like I could have spent a lifetime walking through the labyrinth of stone walls and inspiring architecture. It wasn’t until I reached the lookout that the clouds shyly parted, revealing the ancient city below. It was a truly humbling moment and one that I will never forget.
Machu Picchu is one sight that should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Not sure when we will get to tour South America but really hoping it will be in the next 2 years! This is most definitely on our bucket list 🙂
Catching a nice sunny day with clear views is a rare opportunity. I think it’s best staying 2-3-4 nights at Aguas Calientes and grab the opportunity.
I never tire of seeing Machu Picchu 🙂
I have been there! Machu Picchu is incredible!!! my travel started in there, then i went to the south, to Chile, amazing country too! it has a beautiful landscapes!! i made my travel in Chile in a motorhome, if you want to do it, i can recommend you to rent a campervan or motorhome in AndesCampers, a very helpful company, they were very friendly with me and my family.
